Dextera Corporation received final certification in the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program effective October 15, 2008. The SBA 8(a) program is a business development program that provides additional corporate growth opportunities for a nine-year period. While CEO Kathryn Daut expects to capitalize on business opportunities that the SBA 8(a) certification provides, Dextera also plans to continue to pursue non-8(a) contracts and build upon existing relationships with other service providers as potential teaming partners. The combination of 8(a) and non-8(a) contract opportunities will allow the company to broaden its base of satisfied clients and work toward the company’s primary objective of establishing itself as a first choice among small federal contractors, regardless of classification.
